ABOUT
Catrìona MacInnes is a screenwriter and director currently developing her debut feature Gift From God with producers John Mackay and Laura McBride of Compact Pictures Ltd (for Scotland), in co-production with Jessie Fisk of Feline Films (for Ireland).She developed the screenplay through the LIM Feature Film Development Programme in 2024 and was selected for the Stowe Story Labs Writers Retreat in Connemara in 2025. Her graduation film, I’m in Away from Here, premiered in competition at the Venice International Film Festival.Her subsequent work has been recognised at festivals including BFI London, Edinburgh International Film Festival, Encounters, Nashville and Seattle. Her BFI NETWORK-supported short Howls was nominated for Best Short at EIFF in 2017.Originally trained in contemporary performance and theatre-making at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Catrìona has participated in Berlinale Talents, TIFF Filmmakers Lab and EIFF’s Talent Lab Connects. In 2026, she was selected for Reclaim The Frame and Sony Pictures Television’s Back in the Frame Initiative.
