Catriona studied theatre and performance at the RSAMD before eventually studying for a Masters in Film Practice.
Her grad film, I’m In Away From Here, premiered in competition at the 65th Venice International Film Festival. A Cuillin Rising premiered at the 55th BFI London Film Festival. Her last short film, Howls, produced by THIRD Films, was supported through the BFI NETWORK and was nominated for Best Short at Edinburgh International Film Festival, 2017. She has been a participant at Edinburgh International Film Festival’s Talent Lab, Berlinale Talents and Toronto International Film Festival Lab. She has written two feature film screenplays, Gift from God and Carla, both selected for multiple residencies. She has received 1st feature development funding for Carla through BFI NETWORK.
Catriona has been a part-time lecturer in Film Practice at Edinburgh Napier University for the last 7 years and has been a mentor and facilitator in arts and education settings for over 20 years, including producing and managing the hugely successful Jumpcut summer production company for Sigma Films/Film City Futures from 2013-2015.
